🏈On November 8, 1970 New Orleans’ kicker Tom Dempsey kicked a 63-yard field goal as time expired to give the Saints a 19–17 win over the Detroit Lions at Tulane Stadium. The snap was from Jackie Burkett with the hold by Joe Scarpati. The win was 1 of only 2 for the Saints that season. With the kick, Dempsey (who was born with no toes on his right foot and no fingers on his right hand) broke Bert Rechichar's NFL record for longest field goal by 7 yards.
