Happy #FreedomFriday to… wait, where did he go? This Clapper Rail was found grounded in a parking lot (an unusual place for a secretive marsh bird) after possibly striking a window. Rails do not spend much time around humans and are sensitive in captivity, so we do our best not to disturb them while in care. He had a short stay with us for supportive care and a free bug buffet, before being quietly released into the marsh in Porters Neck. In basically no time, he was back to doing what rails do
