Scientists Fear Eruption After Earthquakes Near Axial Seamount

A mile-wide underwater volcano, Axial Seamount, is showing signs of an imminent eruption in the Pacific Ocean. Located 300 miles off the coast of Oregon, this massive volcano sits 4,626 feet beneath sea level and is part of an active volcanic ridge. Scientists have recorded over 1,000 small earthquakes daily, indicating magma buildup. During its last eruption in 2015, the volcano triggered 10,000 earthquakes in a single day. While the eruption is expected to be powerful, experts say it poses no
