Please stop tilling your soil or turning it over and mixing amendments in. You are destroying the structure that was built into the soil by plants. If you live in new construction and you have compacted clay, you need plants and organic matter. The best way to feed your soil is with any kind of organic matter like compost wood mulch, pine straw leaves, etc. As those organic materials decompose, they get dragged into the soil by water and gravity through the channels that your plants have built.
