Last night was nothing short of violent on Lake Ontario. At 2am, splash from waves was hitting my 3rd floor window, instantly freezing in a layer of ice. I’ve never seen that before. Truthfully, I started getting concerned about what I was going to see in the morning. No more than an hour later, the battering of waves stopped. Just completely stopped. I look outside to find the lake had frozen. It happened so fast but ultimately that likely saved bigger problems. This is the view this afternoon
