Joy Delima on Instagram: "This is Tambú, the traditional music/dance of the Afro-Curaçaoan people here on the island of Curaçao. The music and the dance, the drum (also called Tambú) descent from West-Africa. They came to Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire during the Dutch slavetrade. Tambú used to be forbidden, during slavery, but also in the 20th century. Afro-Curaçaoan people dance Tambú as a way to express joy, to spiritually cleanse their house and soul, and it was used as a tool of resistance. #ta
