Icebergs calved from tidewater glaciers are still a danger today. An iceberg over 80 kilometers long and 40 kilometers wide recently broke off from the Larsen Sea Shelf in Antarctica.

B-15A was a large iceberg, about the size of Luxembourg, which had run aground off of the coast of Antarctica. It broke up on a calm day with locally mild weather, puzzling observers.
