McCarthy, Minnesota’s 10 th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has been a revelation for the Vikings this season. In seven games played thus far, the former Michigan Wolverines star has completed 102-of-182 passes (56.0%) for 1,092 yards and nine touchdowns. He also has 29 carries for 139 yards and two rushing TDs.

The 31-0 win over the Commanders will only do so much for the curriculum vitae of the 5-8 Vikings, but it provided a dose of relief for the team and its weary fanbase.
