If you want to know where the next nuclear reactor is being built, you may have to look up at the stars. Transportation Secretary and interim NASA Administrator Sean Duffy is moving forward with a plan to construct nuclear reactors on the moon in the hopes of expanding American influence in outer space.

The plan appears to be Duffy’s first major directive since being selected by Trump to lead NASA on an interim basis in early July.

NASA is ready to send nuclear reactors to the Moon. The goal is to have a working reactor by 2030. NASA boss Sean Duffy said the U.S. is racing China to the Moon. Planting reactors is smarter than just planting flags.
