US Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed on Friday that he had met with an envoy for President Vladimir Putin this week and sent him back to Moscow with a message: the clock is ticking on when there needs to be a breakthrough in the peace talks to end the Ukraine war.
After meeting with NATO ministers in Brussels, Rubio expressed frustration with the current state of discussions, stating, "We will know soon enough, in a matter of weeks, not months, whether Russia is serious about peace or not".
Discussions between U.S. and Russian delegations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine are underway Monday in Saudi Arabia, according to media reports.
