The world is watching as the U.S. prepares to impose tariffs on global trading partners starting Aug. 7. China, India, and Switzerland will be in sharp focus alongside any announcements on pharma and chip levies.

Switzerland was left stunned on Friday after Trump hit the country with one of the highest tariffs in his global trade reset, with industry associations warning that tens of thousands of jobs were at risk.

Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter flew to the U.S. in a last-minute effort to make an “attractive tariff offer” to counter Trump’s 39% tariff taking effect on August 7.
