Panthers get a power play out of this, but the Oilers kill it. Sam Reinhart makes a great behind-the-back pass to Aaron Ekblad, who has a wide-open net. That's two power-play goals for Florida.
The Edmonton Oilers dropped Game 5 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final to the Florida Panthers. From the start of the game, Florida looked very much in control and used that to grab a massive 3-2 series lead over the Oilers.
The Oilers responded to their horrid first period with one of the most historic comebacks in Cup Final history. Nugent-Hopkins, Nurse, and Vasily Podkolzin scored in a three-goal second-period rally to tie the game.
