Senate Bill 181 was signed into law earlier this year, and says educators can only electronically communicate with students outside through traceable online platforms designated by their district.

A new state law limits how public school teachers and coaches can communicate with students, and Louisville schools are working around the changes ahead of the first day next month.

"It has just been obstacle after obstacle in this political climate," the organization's executive director said.
