No more XPS, Inspiron, Latitude? Yep. Dell is eliminating its well-known PC family names across its laptop and desktop PC stacks, aiming to simplify what's what for new customers.

Dell’s new branding puts the highly trusted Dell name front and center with three PC categories: The Dell and Dell Pro product lines extend to displays, accessories and services for a consistent customer experience across the entire client portfolio. Alienware will remain as the gaming arm of Dell.

Dell is reorganizing its entire product lineup, retiring iconic brands like XPS, Inspiron, Latitude, and more. All in the name of simplicity. But for a product lineup this large, simplicity can actually be confusing.

Rather than going by nonsense names like "XPS" and "Inspiron," every Dell machine will now be separated into three categories: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max. This is, of course, very similar to Apple's approach to naming its devices. Per Bloomberg (via 9to5mac ), people in the audience at Dell's CES press conference noted it verbally.
