Tremane Wood was sentenced to death even after his own brother confessed to the 2002 crime. Now, the unthinkable just happened as he sat on death row.
Wood, 46, is set to be executed Nov. 13 for a fatal stabbing in Oklahoma City in 2002. He denies he was the stabber. He is asking the parole board to recommend to Gov. Kevin Stitt that his sentence be commuted. His clemency hearing is set for Nov. 5.
Hours after his death sentence was commuted by Governor Stitt, Tremane Wood was found unresponsive in his cell at the state prison, according to family members.
