The Oscars 'In Memoriam' segment omitted Michelle Trachtenberg and Marianne Faithfull this year, while paying tribute to other luminaries lost this past year, including David Lynch and Gena Rowlands.

Jennie Garth has responded to the Oscars’ decision not to feature the late Shannen Doherty in its “In Memoriam” tribute on Sunday. The “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor was asked about the snub in a video captured by TMZ on Wednesday.

Oscars ignited controversy for leaving out actors such as Michelle Trachtenberg, Tony Todd and Olivia Hussey. “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Shannen Doherty was also omitted, which her co-star Jennie Garth called “messed up” when asked by TMZ to give her thoughts on the snub (via People).

In the words of Jennie Garth, “that’s messed up” that Shannen Doherty was snubbed among the stars honored at the Oscar’s In Memoriam segment this year. The same could be said for Michelle Trachtenberg and Tony Dodd who moved fans with their notable works that deserved high esteem like everyone else who sadly passed.
