DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israeli airstrikes killed at least 28 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip including four children, while 24 others were fatally shot on their way to aid distribution sites, Palestinian hospital officials and witnesses said on Saturday.

Three brothers in the Gaza Strip woke up early to run to a local clinic to get "sweets," their word for the emergency food supplements distributed by aid groups. By the time their father woke up, two of the brothers had been fatally wounded by an Israeli strike and the third had lost an eye.

An Israeli airstrike in central Gaza killed at least 15 people, including 10 children and two women, as they waited for treatment outside a clinic run by U.S.-health non-profit Project Hope.
