The biggest night in Hollywood was interrupted by Hulu‘s bungled livestream Sunday evening (March 2) as technical errors blocked thousands of subscribers from logging in and also led to the livestream being cut short just as the evening’s biggest categories were announced.
More than 33,000 users reported an inability to log onto Hulu just as the 97th Academy Award telecast was set to begin. Thousands more saw their stream abruptly end before the best picture award.
Hulu subscribers trying to keep up with Anora’s roll though many of the major Oscars categories Sunday missed out on the evening’s climax, when the film won Best Picture and Sean Baker became the only other person besides Walt Disney to win four Oscars in one night.
