UCLA called the decision "a loss for Americans across the nation whose work, health, and future depend on the groundbreaking work we do."

The Trump administration has frozen roughly $200 million in National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health and other federal agency-funded research at UCLA, citing allegations the school discriminates in admissions and has failed to protect the civil rights of Jewish students.

The university is the latest to be targeted by the federal government over claims of antisemitism and bias on campus.
