Thailand's leader vowed on Saturday to keep fighting on the disputed border with Cambodia as fighter jets struck targets hours after U.S. President Donald Trump said he had brokered a new ceasefire.

Trump announced the agreement to restart the ceasefire in a social media posting following calls with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.

Cambodia says Thailand has launched more airstrikes as heavy fighting flares along their border. Both countries accuse each other of violating sovereignty.

The escalation broke the ceasefire brokered in July by Trump who threatened to halt trade talks with the two countries unless they ended the fight.
