Pope Leo XIV thrilled hundreds of thousands of young Catholics on Saturday as he paraded through a vast field on the outskirts of Rome converted to host the Youth Jubilee.

Hundreds of thousands of young Catholics descended on Rome for the Youth Jubilee, which kicked off on Tuesday evening with a mass by the Pope in St Peter's Square. They gathered for a vigil on Saturday night ahead of a Sunday mass held by the Pope.

Thousands of young Catholics began assembling Saturday for an evening prayer vigil led by Pope Leo XIV, the culmination of a week-long pilgrimage and a key event in the Jubilee holy year that is expected to draw up to a million people.
