Hurricane center forecasters are tracking two tropical waves off the coast of Africa, but they do not pose a threat. The USA TODAY Network in Florida will produce daily tropics watch advisories.
While severe storms are generally forecasted to remain south of our area, they cannot be completely dismissed.
Some storms moving through Florida could be severe, bringing a potential for hail and localized flooding. There just might be some rain in Florida's forecast as we move into the Memorial Day weekend. For some, there might be too much of a good thing.
Flags will be flown at half-staff on all local and state buildings on Monday in honor of Memorial Day. Gov. DeSantis issued a memorandum on Friday ordering the flags at half-staff from sunrise until noon.
