National Guard troops arrived in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday morning following a couple of days marked by violent clashes between law enforcement officers and protesters over President Trump's immigration enforcement operations conducted in the area.

LAPD declared an unlawful assembly as protests against ICE operations continue as Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard troops Sunday.

Amid protests by hundreds of demonstrators against immigration raids in Los Angeles, California, U.S. President Donald Trump was asked by a reporter in Morristown, New Jersey, on Sunday (June 8), if he planned to send troops to Los Angeles even if he does not invoke the Insurrection Act.
