Those freeze-dried fruits in your pantry might be a health hazard. According to a statement issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Doehler Dry Ingredient Solutions, LLC just recalled Member’s Mark Freeze Dried Fruit Variety Packs due to a potential risk of listeria contamination.

The contaminated products were discovered through the company’s internal testing, but no illnesses have been reported

Listeria monocytogenes is known to cause listeriosis, a foodborne illness particularly dangerous for vulnerable populations like young children, the elderly, and pregnant women. Healthy people typically experience short-term ailments such as fever, headaches and diarrhea, but the infection can be fatal in people with compromised immune systems.
