According to a Wall Street Journal report that cites investors close to SpaceX, the company has agreed to invest $2 billion in Musk’s AI startup xAI. The investment would reportedly be part of the $5 billion equity raise (along with another $5 billion in debt) that Morgan Stanley announced at the end of June.
The latest version of Elon Musk's artificial intelligence chatbot Grok is echoing the views of its billionaire creator, so much so that it will sometimes search online for Musk's stance on an issue before offering up an opinion.
This news comes after Elon Musk's xAI claimed that its ultimate goal is to develop a "maximally truth-seeking AI." xAI hasn't commented on the issue, making it impossible to establish whether Grok 4's responses based on Elon Musk's opinions are by design or it could be an error that the company is currently working on to resolve.
