Texas Democratic lawmakers expected to confront many uncertainties when they left the state in a last-ditch attempt to block Republicans from pushing through a new congressional map.

A Chicago-area hotel, where many Texas Democrats who left the state in protest were staying, was evacuated for the second time just two days apart due to another bomb threat on Friday.

Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin said his group is putting its full weight to help Texas Democrats, who left the state to block Republicans from redrawing congressional districts.
