The Boston Red Sox have apparently been active in trade talks, with one report indicating they were in on Eugenio Suarez before he was traded to Seattle.

The Mariners reportedly acquired All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suárez in a trade with the Diamondbacks just before midnight Wednesday. The Red Sox were one of the teams “in the mix” and Boston had “the intention of acquiring him to play first base,” The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Jen McCaffrey reported.
