A Hobart police squad car involved in a crash Sunday while transporting a detainee had its lights and sirens on and was struck by another vehicle, Lake County sheriff's police said.
Police say the two officers were driving to a call near Westminster St. and Maryland Ave. with their lights and siren on when their squad was hit by another vehicle.
A volunteer fire squad that directs traffic in emergencies quit en masse when one of its its leaders was prohibited from using a red light and siren.
