The Peoria area is in “the crosshairs” of the approaching winter storm, said Albano. The area has a 100% chance of precipitation Wednesday. Although The Weather Channel’s forecast calls for more snow in northern Illinois, Peoria should see between 3-6 inches inches. Albano estimated that the area will receive at least 4 inches.

Much of west-central Illinois will be hit with 2-4 inches of snow as a winter storm passes through the region on Wednesday.

A winter storm moving out of the Plains will bring moderate snow to parts of the area later this morning into the afternoon.
