Hurricane Erin is tracking northwest between the U.S. East Coast and Bermuda, bringing dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents to Florida and the Carolinas through midweek.

Hurricane Erin weakened and was a Category 2 storm on Tuesday that was expected to grow much larger as it approached the United States. Erin, the first hurricane of 2025 in the Atlantic, was not expected to make landfall in the U.S., however.
