According to a post on the Zachary Fire Department’s Facebook page, the truck is from Ferrara Fire Apparatus and has been designated as Engine 813 in the department’s fleet.

Ferrara Fire Apparatus, LLC Ferrara designs and manufactures fire trucks, including pumpers, tankers, and aerial devices, focusing on customization and advanced technology.

According to Ferrara, the apparatus has been engineered to combat the stresses and reaction forces created by fire flow rates in excess of 5,000 gpm.

Fire district officials provided documents indicating they lost more than $550,000 in their fight with the truck's manufacturer, Louisiana-based Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc.

The initial purchase price for the custom-designed rig from Ferrara Fire Apparatus Inc. was $1,002,351.00, according to a bill of sale from early 2014.
