The Trump administration has ordered U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officers to pause all asylum decisions following the shooting of two National Guard soldiers in Washington D.C., according to a directive obtained by CBS News and two sources familiar with the order.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday his administration will work to permanently pause migration from all "Third World Countries" to allow the U.S. system to fully recover.

USCIS has already stopped processing all immigration requests relating to Afghan nationals indefinitely, pending a review of “security and vetting protocols”.
