An inmate in Washington County was released to Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) last week. County officials said Jose Turcios Salmeron, from El Salvador, was released to ICE on Jan. 23. He was being held on charges including aggravated and simple assault.

Washington County leaders say they've turned five undocumented immigrants facing criminal charges over to ICE this week.

Up to six Washington County inmates could be detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Jose Turcios Salmeron, a native of El Salvador, was being held at Washington County Jail on charges of aggravated and simple assault.
