The Utah Avalanche Center Is Trying to Identify 2 People Caught in Large Unreported Slide
Utah Avalanche Center officials believe the skiers involved in the unreported slide had likely ducked a rope at Brighton in order to access the backcountry.
The Utah Avalanche Center has new information about a pair of skiers who accidentally triggered an avalanche near Brighton last week.
The UAC said the aftermath of the slide was spotted by one of their own, along with a member of Brighton Resort's ski patrol. They said the avalanche occurred on the northwest slope of Hidden Canyon in the backcountry near Brighton, just north of the top of the Great Western chairlift, according to a map from the center.
Over the weekend, an avalanche caused by a snowmobile in the Manti-La Sal National Forest caught and partially buried one person, who was fortunately uninjured.
