Tiger Woods was part of the merger talks Thursday between the PGA Tour and Saudi-funded LIV Golf, which has stalled for the past two years.

President Donald Trump met on Thursday with golfing legend Tiger Woods as part of efforts to resolve a schism in professional golf between the PGA Tour and upstart LIV Golf, a person briefed on the talks said.

Monahan and Scott initially met with the President to discuss the PGA Tour’s future with LIV Golf on Feb. 4, a meeting that Woods did not attend because of his mother’s passing. The Commissioner called it a “productive” discussion, adding that “everything is moving forward with pace.”
