KUSI’s Ed Lenderman reports on a continued Red Flag Warning in San Diego County. SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Santa Anas winds blustered the inland valleys and mountains Thursday amid a continued Red Flag Warning,

Dry conditions, gusty winds, and low relative humidity are all hitting San Diego County at the same time leading to critical fire concerns for the region.

The ferocious Santa Ana winds that helped fuel the deadly wildfires around Los Angeles are forecast to ease later Wednesday, but they may return.

Usually, when there are wildfires in Los Angeles, smoke would make its way to San Diego. So far that hasn’t been the case.

Although the strongest wind gusts have passed through the Southern California region, another "traditional Santa Ana wind event" will move in Thursday night.

High pressure is building from the north and that will help to tighten the pressure gradient over southern California, producing more gusty winds.

Santa Ana winds will still be strong enough to carry wildfire embers as they ease through Thursday. There are further strong wind gusts expected for Friday morning. KNBC meteorologist Belen de Leon has all the details.
