Parts of southeast Texas were under flash flood warnings as excessive rainfall is expected in the Southern Plains states.

At least five people are dead and two others are missing after several vehicles were swept away during flash flooding in San Antonio, Texas, triggered by heavy rains the area has not seen in more than a decade.

Dozens of roads and low water crossings are closed after heavy rain brought flooding conditions to the San Antonio area. Showers and storms swept through South Texas Thursday morning, bringing damaging wind gusts and hail to the area.
