The Pahalgam terror attack last week didn’t just kill people. It will cast a long-term shadow on Tourism, one of the contributors to Jammu and Kashmir’s economy. Never before have so many tourists been killed in a single attack in Kashmir’s violent past.

Tourism in Kashmir, which had been on the rise since the Covid pandemic, has come to a standstill following the the killing of 26 tourists on April 22 in the picturesque town of Pahalgam. According to the Association of Hoteliers in the Valley,

Signs of recovery started to show as both foreign and Indian tourists were spotted walking through the streets of Pahalgam, bringing back a sense of normalcy and hope to the area.
