The original TV program ended with a finale in 2022 but it was rebooted by Amazon MGM Studios the following year. It currently streams in Australia, as well as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, South Africa and New Zealand.

Amazon’s Freevee then rescued the show, striking a deal with program maker Fremantle. Freevee, Amazon’s ad-supported free streamer itself was axed in November last year, as Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva revealed at the time. The show then transferred to Prime Video.

The long-running Australian soap opera 'Neighbours' is set to end its run once again, with the final episode scheduled to air in December 2025.

The drama series will finish up at the end of 2025, 40 years after making its television debut on Channel Ten.

The announcement came on Thursday (February 20), just two years since Amazon saved the series after it was dropped by the Aussie channel Network 10. Neighbours was originally canceled in 2022 after 37 seasons, only for Amazon to revive it months later on its streaming service Freevee.

For its army of fans in the UK, Neighbours is more than just a TV show. The ongoing story of Ramsay Street is a cosy 20-minute dose of joy and escapism, which has tied friends, family and fans together into an unforgettable shared viewing experience for four decades.
