Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love is expected to be ready for Thursday's Orange Bowl game against 6-seed Penn State after practicing this week, Fighting Irish coach Marcus Freeman said Tuesday.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish punched their ticket to the National Championship on Thursday night, defeating Penn State 27-24 in the Orange Bowl to clinch their first appearance in a title game since the 2012 season.

Love and Notre Dame are set to take on the winner of the Texas- Ohio State showdown in the Cotton Bowl on Friday. The championship game is scheduled for Jan. 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
