Real Madrid defender Éder Militão is expected to be sidelined for at least three months because of a left leg injury.
The centre-back was substituted in the first half of what was Madrid's first home league loss of the season on Sunday.
As a reminder, Militao was coming back from a long injury layoff and Real had hoped to count on him against Manchester City next Wednesday in the Champions League. While the nature of his injury remains to be determined, The Athletic reports that Real Madrid is very worried about their defender, who could miss several weeks of competition.
The severity of the injury puts Militão on the sidelines for up to four months, per MARCA. The defender has now suffered a long-term injury in his last three seasons in a white shirt; he recovered from back-to-back ACL tears only to return to the infirmary with a torn hamstring.
